Honest, Thorough & Truly Above and Beyond – My Go-To Mechanic I cannot recommend JV Automotive highly enough. They have looked after my VW Polo for years and consistently go above and beyond every single visit. Recently my Polo started throwing random error messages. I brought it to JV and, after a careful inspection, they diagnosed a dead central electric module—and they did this free of charge. They were upfront in explaining that while they could identify the problem, only a Volkswagen-certified centre could reset and reprogram the new module. That kind of honesty is rare. Unfortunately, I then had to take the car to VW Village, and that turned out to be the worst experience I’ve had since owning this vehicle. Even though I explained that JV had already identified the issue and that a new module plus reprogramming was required, VW Village insisted on “independent diagnosis.” They charged me $700 and 3–4 hours of labour only to come back with the exact same conclusion JV had already given me. It left me questioning whether any real diagnostic work had been done or if I simply paid for a duplicate report. The frustration didn’t end there. The replacement electric module took weeks to arrive, and in the meantime VW Village kept calling about new “problems” with the car—issues that had never been mentioned by JV or observed before. The contrast between the two workshops could not have been sharper. JV Automotive, on the other hand, is everything you want in a mechanic: Thorough and precise with their inspections. Transparent and fair with their pricing (diagnosis was free). Professional and respectful, taking time to explain what’s essential and what’s not. Because of their honesty and expertise, I saved myself from unnecessary expenses and headaches. They truly set the benchmark for integrity and customer care in automotive service. If you own a car — go to JV first. They’ll treat your vehicle as if it’s their own and give you straight answers without the upsell or hidden costs.
